A Message from the Thornhurst Township Board of Supervisors
The Township continues to move ahead on the projects still on the agenda. Our primary focus continues to be on the park, the church building, and the private short term rental issue. All these projects contain elements that are or have been complex, and dependent on legal approvals.
The park’s progress has been affected by many staff changes at the engineering firm. The church project is moving along. The interior design is the next step. The exterior of the church looks great.
The short-term rental issue has had resolution from the Superior Court, but it appears that there will be an appeal. We, however, won the first round.
Thank you, to all the residents who participate in the Township events and organizations. The Fire Company and the Auxiliary personnel always stay involved. Involvement is necessary and greatly appreciated. All participants should be proud of their commitment to our community.
Township Meeting Dates & Times
The Planning Commission meets at 7pm on the first Tuesday of March, May, September and November, with additional meetings as needed. The Board of Supervisors meets at 7:30pm on the second Thursday of each month. Both meetings are held at the Township Building on Old River Road. Public notices and meeting changes are published in the Tri-County Independent. Information about local events and other township news or activities is posted on the bulletin board outside of the building.
